The Delta Force Technical Test has just kicked off for Xbox Insiders, offering an early glimpse at this upcoming free-to-play tactical shooter. If you own an Xbox Series X|S and live in North America, now’s your chance to jump into the action-packed modes before the official release on August 19.
Delta Force is a fresh entry in the longstanding franchise known for its tactical team-based gameplay for over 25 years. This time, players will experience three distinct modes all bundled into one game: the massive 32v32 Warfare battles, a next-generation extraction mode called Operations, and a classic PvE campaign inspired by Black Hawk Down.
What’s cool? Progression will be shared across console, PC, and mobile, with cross-play enabled between console and PC. Plus, it’s free-to-play with over 10 operators and maps to look at. I’m kinda curious how the balance will hold up with such large-scale multiplayer combat and extraction gameplay combined.
Here’s the lowdown on the playtest window:
- Start: Wednesday, July 16th, 6 PM PT (9 PM ET / July 17th, 1 AM UTC)
- End: Saturday, July 20, 6 PM PT (9 PM ET / July 21st, 1 AM UTC)
To jump in, Xbox Series X|S owners need to open the Xbox Insider Hub app, find the Delta Force Beta under Previews, and join the test. Keep in mind, spots are limited and it’s first-come, first-served. Also, this test is only available in Canada, Mexico, and the United States.

Are you gonna give Delta Force a shot? I’m definitely intrigued by the mix of modes and the free-to-play angle. Will the large-scale Warfare mode keep me on edge, or will the extraction mode steal the show? Wow, I can’t wait to see how this all pans out!
