World of Warcraft’s Patch 11.2 is shaking things up with a new permanent augment rune that boosts your Primary Stat by +733. This rune doesn’t disappear after use; it stays in your bag forever. However, be warned, it requires a significant investment: 100,000 gold and a Renown Rank 18 with the K’aresh Trust.
The Ethereal Augment Rune is the crown jewel here. It lasts for an hour each time you use it, but unlike other runes, it never vanishes from your inventory. That’s a nice perk if you’re planning to stick around for the long haul this expansion.
How to Get the Ethereal Augment Rune?
First, you need to hit Renown Rank 18 with the K’aresh Trust. Then, you’ll have to cough up 100,000 gold before any discounts. It’s a brutal gold sink, and the grind is no joke. This rune is for those who want a permanent stat boost without worrying about running out.
If you’re not ready to empty your coffers or grind that high Renown, Blizzard has a second option that’s a bit more raid-friendly.
Second Option for Raiders
Reach Rank 9 with Manaforge Vandals, a raid-exclusive Renown faction, and you unlock access to the Soulgorged Augment Rune. These runes drop from The Soul Hunters boss in the Manaforge Omega raid. The boss might even drop three additional runes on top of the guaranteed three.
Unlike the Ethereal Rune, these runes are consumed on use, but they persist through death. So if you wipe in the raid, you won’t lose your precious buff. That’s kinda handy.
Which Rune Should You Choose?
Picking between the two depends on your style and patience. Want a rune that sticks around for the entire expansion? Then, grinding K’aresh Trust Renown and saving up 100k gold is your path. Not into that? No worries, raid during Week 1 and snag the Soulgorged Augment Runes from The Soul Hunters. They won’t last forever, but still pack a punch.
So, which route sounds better to you? The permanent grind or the raid drops? I’m curious what folks will lean toward. It’s a significant commitment either way, and your choice may impact your preparation strategy for months.
