Gamescom 2025 is eager up to be a big deal for World of Warcraft fans. Blizzard will reveal the cinematic for the upcoming Midnight expansion on August 19, kicking off a packed schedule of events that includes a player housing demo and community activities running from August 20 to 24.
The Opening Night Live stream on August 19 will showcase the first cinematic trailer for Midnight. It’s the first real look at the next chapter in the Worldsoul Saga, and will probably leave you with more questions than answers. Just how Blizzard plans to shake things up remains to be seen.
Right after the cinematic, WoW Executive Producer Holly Longdale, Senior Game Director Ion Hazzikostas, and Creative Director Chris Metzen will host a detailed broadcast. This session will go into the new zones, gameplay mechanics, story elements, and features coming with Midnight. You can catch this live on the official YouTube and Twitch channels.
For the first time ever, attendees at Gamescom can try out the new housing system in a public demo at the World of Warcraft booth in Hall 8. You’ll be able to build, decorate, and customize your own home away from Azeroth’s usual chaos. This feature has been teased for ages, and finally getting hands-on time is kinda interesting. Imagine the possibilities for personalizing your space!
The event will also feature the Creator Clash, streaming live from August 20 to 22. Expect to see creators battle it out in Season 3 Mythic Dungeons & Delves, and watch the top four teams from the AWC Season 2 compete in a cross-region Arena bracket. Plus, there will be live showcases of the new housing system.
The Community Stage will be active throughout Gamescom, featuring developer panels, the WoW Cosplay Contest, Arena and Mythic Dungeon showcases, meet-and-greets with developers and content creators, and even a live weekly reset stream with Taliesin and Evitel.
If you can’t make it to Cologne, don’t worry. Blizzard will stream most events live, so no one misses out. The full schedule will be posted on the official site soon, so keep an eye out.
Will the Midnight expansion live up to the hype? Can player housing finally add that homey touch WoW has lacked? I’m curious what you think—drop your thoughts in the comments below!
