If you’ve been watching Azeroth lately, you’re likely as excited as I am about the upcoming Season of Discovery Phase 6, set to kick off on November 21, 2024. Whether you’re a seasoned veteran or a fresh face in the World of Warcraft universe, there’s much to look forward to in this exciting new chapter.
Gather Your Allies!
This phase invites players to rally their forces against the Old God, C’thun, in Ahn’Qiraj, alongside engaging in battles against the fearsome Dragons of Nightmare in the Nightmare Grove. But first, you’ll need to begin your journey by embarking on the “Scepter of the Shifting Sands” questline, which opens on November 12 with regional resets.
Key Dates to Remember:
- November 12: Scepter of the Shifting Sands questline opens with regional resets.
- November 21: Ahn’Qiraj War Effort begins at 1:00 PM PST globally.
- November 29: The War Effort ends.
- December 4: The war heralding the arrival of Anubisath and the Qiraji warriors begins.
- December 6: Temple of Ahn’Qiraj, Ruins of Ahn’Qiraj, and Nightmare Grove Open.
Bang a Gong!
Suppose you complete the quest to create the Scepter of the Sands between December 4 and December 6. In that case, you’ll be rewarded with the Black Qiraji Resonating Crystal, which summons a ridable Qiraji battle tank, a must-have for your collection. This tank can be used both in the outdoor world and within the Temple of Ahn’Qiraj.
Join the War Effort
As we gear up for the fight against Ahn’Qiraj’s sinister forces, players from both factions, Horde and Alliance, are encouraged to contribute supplies to the War Effort. You can turn in your supplies for valuable items and gain a reputation through the Horde Commendation Signets or Alliance Commendation Signets.
Remember, having a profession can significantly enhance your resource acquisition, so get those crafting skills ready!
Pushing Back the Enemy
Combat with the Anubisath and Qiraji forces isn’t just about the upcoming raids. You can engage in battles across various zones like the Barrens and Thousand Needles for lower-level players, and Silithus, Tanaris, and Feralas for higher-level players. It’s a great way to earn gold, experience, and reputation with the Brood of Nozdormu!
Opening of the Gates
After the completion of the 48-hour war, players will gain access to the Ruins of Ahn’Qiraj (10+ player raid dungeon) and the Temple of Ahn’Qiraj (20+ player raid dungeon). All bosses within these dungeons must be defeated to complete the raid, so gather your raids and prepare for a thrilling challenge.
New Raid Difficulty System
Phase 6 introduces an optional new system called “Descent into Madness”. Players can decide how far they want to push their skills for extra rewards. Optional challenges will provide limited attempts to earn additional loot, testing your group’s coordination and resolve. Will you push your luck or play it safe? This system will be available on the PTR starting November 8.
Ruins of Ahn’Qiraj Bosses
Here are some of the formidable foes you’ll encounter in the Ruins:
- Kurinnaxx: Requires mobility to avoid shifting sands.
- General Rajaxx: Commander of the Qiraji armies.
- Moam: A mana-stealing foe who needs careful strategy.
- Buru the Gorger: Weak against the eggs in his lair.
- Ayamiss the Hunter: Starts airborne and needs to be grounded.
- Ossirian the Unscarred: Use crystals to weaken him.
Temple of Ahn’Qiraj Bosses
Face off against these bosses in the Temple:
- The Prophet Skeram: First in your epic journey through the temple.
- Silithid Royalty: A challenging optional encounter.
- Battleguard Sartura: Leader of Qiraji battleguards.
- Fankriss the Unyielding: The third boss in this deadly series.
- Viscidus: A giant slime waiting to be defeated.
- Princess Huhuran: A swift foe in her underground domain.
- The Twin Emperors: Creators of a powerful army.
- Ouro: An ancient sandworm standing in your way.
- C’Thun: The ultimate challenge in the vault.
Enter the Nightmare Grove
Additionally, players can now confront the Dragons of Nightmare, accessing each dragon in sequence through the Nightmare Grove. This feature enriches the gameplay experience, making it easier for players to take on these formidable foes.
