World of Warcraft players are revisiting the Blood Elf starting zones after Blizzard Entertainment revealed the Midnight expansion at Gamescom. That reveal and the cinematic footage shown at Gamescom have already sent more players back to Silvermoon on live servers.
The Midnight announcement at Gamescom included a cinematic and in-engine footage that highlighted the revamped Blood Elf capital. The footage has prompted threads and streams showing a much busier Silvermoon, and more players are replaying the starting experience to refresh their memories.
There are separate writeups on the Alliance kill-on-sight details and a later clarification on Silvermoon’s layout that explain how parts of the city will behave in Midnight; those pieces help explain why roleplayers and returning characters are gathering.
Watch the cinematic and the reveal clip here:
Live servers are showing a clear uptick in activity around Eversong Woods and Silvermoon City as more people replay the Blood Elf starting quests ahead of Midnight. Max-level characters are logging in to wander the old zones, and roleplayers are turning the capital into a hub again.
The best thing that Midnight has ever done so far: Shot a pulse back into Silvermoon city for RP servers. After being dead for many years, to see it blooming back to life so suddenly has been amazing.

Players using the Total Roleplay 3 addon reported seeing other users on the map, which explains some of the sudden feeling of a populated city. There are also guides on how Horde access works for Silvermoon, detailing which areas are contested and which remain open.
