Wowlrd of Warcraft: The Twilight Ascension pre-patch event begins January 27 and continues until the launch of Midnight on March 2. Blizzard says the event sends players to the Twilight Highlands to disrupt rituals carried out by the Twilight’s Blade cult and to defeat rares and other threats there. The activity is available to characters level 10 and above and starts with faction-specific contacts in the capitals.
Alliance characters pick up the introductory questline from Magister Umbric in Stormwind. Horde characters begin with Grand Magister Rommath in Orgrimmar. Completing the introductory questline rewards the Twilight’s Blade Tabard for the Warband on first completion and the title “Definitely Not a Cultist.” After that players can take on world quests in the Twilight Highlands, defeat rare enemies, and complete weekly objectives to earn the event currency known as Twilight Blade Insignias.
The event includes two named weekly quests. Disrupt the Call and Twilight’s Dawn are repeatable weekly tasks that, along with World Quests and rare spawns in the Twilight Highlands, award Twilight Blade Insignias for purchasing vendor rewards. The Ascension Base Camp in the zone hosts vendors who sell gear and cosmetics.
Players can earn two event achievements. Two Minutes to Midnight requires defeating each boss summoned by the Twilight’s Blade in the Twilight Highlands during the pre-launch events and rewards the Light-Forged Mechsuit mount and the Thorn of Twilight title. Crunching for Cultists requires winning the Twilight’s Blade Stratagem game at the Ascension base camp.

After the event
Housing Decor introduced during Twilight Ascension will be purchasable from Dethelin in Silvermoon City after the event ends and Midnight is live. Any remaining Twilight’s Blade Insignias will convert into Resonance Crystals. Other temporary rewards such as the toy, pets, and mounts will not be obtainable after the event ends, so players should plan purchases accordingly.
