World of Tanks has announced Update 2.0, a sweeping vehicle rebalance that touches hundreds of vehicles and module sets across all researchable Tech Trees. It changes stock configurations, adjusts light tanks, updates older Premiums, and pairs these changes with an updated matchmaker to affect battles at every tier.
Rebalance Overview
The studio describes this as the largest rebalance in the game’s history – hundreds of vehicles from Tier I to Tier X have been adjusted, and many module sets have been reworked or removed. Stock vehicles are stronger earlier in the research lines so progression feels clearer and quicker.
Modules that were outdated have been removed and others were reworked or renamed. Players should check their vehicles before heading into battle and review loadouts and equipment after the update. Removed modules on Tier I vehicles will be compensated with Combat XP on Tier I vehicles of the respective nation automatically.
What Changed for Light Tanks
Researchable light tanks from mid to high tiers now have increased HP so they stay in the fight longer and perform their spotting and assisted-damage roles more reliably. They still rely on stealth, speed, and positioning, and can be punished if misplayed.
It’s extensive.
Premium Vehicles and Price Adjustments
Older Premium vehicles are receiving targeted improvements to bring them back into relevance. The first batch includes vehicles such as FCM 50 t and several others shown in the update gallery. The update also lowers Premium vehicle prices in gold for Tier VIII and Tier IX vehicles on an individual basis, and Tier IX Premiums will earn more credits per battle to better match their repair and ammo costs.
Matchmaker and Battle Quality
The rebalance is paired with an updated matchmaker designed to produce fairer battles where each class can perform its intended role. The developer says this will help create more even battles across tiers.
Interactive Tools and Desktop Recommendation
An interactive widget on the official page lets players filter by nation, type, and tier or search by vehicle name to see every change and compare stats. The widget is not optimized for mobile, so the developer recommends using a desktop device for the best experience.
Release: September 3, 2025.
Discover 2.0 Features
The update references a 2.0 Hub with an overview of new features, including Tier XI, the updated matchmaker, vehicle rebalances, and more. There is also a 2.0 Operations Room for missions, rewards, and a personalized battle legacy video.
