The World of Warcraft pre-patch is live today, January 21, 2026, and one of the biggest visible changes players are noticing is the updated transmog system. Several issues have popped up for players, including a faction change bug, but your previously saved transmog collections are not gone.
When you log in you may see your active transmog cleared for the first time. That reset is expected on first login in the patch. Your older sets are still available under the Custom Sets tab in the transmog interface. A Reddit post from a user pointing this out helped calm players who thought their collections had vanished.
To restore a saved look open the transmog or outfit interface and select the Custom Sets tab. From there you can apply your saved collections to the new outfit slots. The interface now separates outfit slots from the saved custom sets, so applying a set is a manual step after the first login reset. There is still active discussion about the cost of unlocking and saving outfits in the new system. Some players find it cheaper overall than the old system while others think the new costs are too high.
Your transmogs are not gone. Look under the "Custom Sets" tab.
