Where to find a dog collar in Arc Raiders

Dog collars appear most often in residential containers on the Buried City and Spaceport maps and are required to unlock Scrappy’s first training upgrade.

Scrappy is the surprise MVP of Arc Raiders, a bright, annoying little rooster that scavenges crafting materials while you do the heavy lifting. To get him working for you, you need to find a dog collar. That collar is the only item required to unlock Scrappy’s first training upgrade in the current release.

You can find dog collars almost anywhere, but your best odds are inside containers in Residential areas. That means bins, cupboards, and loose loot on desks and countertops are where you should be looking.

Loot these locations thoroughly:

      • Dam Battlegrounds: Ruby Residence, Pale Apartments
    • Buried City: Grandioso Apartments, Red Tower, and Santa Maria Houses
    • Blue Gate: Raider’s Refuge, Village, and the Ruined Homestead northwest of Ancient Fort

The dog collar is a rare, blue, recyclable item, so it’s easy to miss during a frantic raid. Use the train Scrappy option on the collection page in the main menu, then select the collar to track it. That adds a small diamond icon in the top-right corner of the item card when you find one, which helps it stand out in a mess of junk. Also, drop the collar into your safe pocket once you have it, so you don’t lose it if extraction goes sideways.

Earlier playtests required a dog collar and a torn blanket to upgrade Scrappy. The full release removed the torn blanket requirement, so only the collar is needed now. If you want to clean up your looting routine, remember that containers in residential zones are the priority. For related tips on scavenging open-world loot, our guide to finding and using field crates in Arc Raiders covers container types and standard spawn rules. If you’re thinking about which Scrappy work style or player upgrades to prioritize after you train him, see our write-up on the best Arc Raiders skills to unlock first. If Scrappy still seems stingy, slow down your route and strip a Residential area clean. That method works better than lightning-fast runs that only check obvious containers.
