World of Warcraft’s Midnight Season 1 arrives on March 17, 2026, and players who plan to run Delves with Valeera Sanguinar should start thinking about which Curios to equip. Valeera is the Delve companion for the expansion; for background on how she functions in the Delve system, see our story on Valeera Sanguinar as the Delve companion. The recommendations below are preliminary and reflect how curios perform when Valeera is active in a Delve.
Top picks for a quick setup
For a straightforward, reliable loadout at Season 1 launch the community guidance split cleanly into one Combat Curio and one Utility Curio to prioritize:
- Combat: Porcelain Blade Tip – consistently the strongest Combat option for Valeera, adding a reliable crit-focused modifier to her kit.
- Utility: Mandate of Sacred Death – the stand-out Utility Curio because Valeera casts Tools of the Trade near profession nodes, letting Mandate stack quickly and boost damage through its on-hit effect.
Those two options tended to outpace alternatives in throughput tests. Mandate of Sacred Death is especially potent when Delves include profession nodes, because Valeera triggers Tools of the Trade frequently and the Mandate stacks accumulate fast.
Nullaeus and Challenge Delves: an exception
The Mandate pick is less useful in Delves that lack profession nodes. The Season 1 Delve Nemesis, Nullaeus, appears in the Challenge Delve format and those delves do not include profession nodes, so you should plan around that limitation. For Nullaeus-focused runs the recommended setup shifts modestly:
- Combat: Porcelain Blade Tip
- Utility: Overflowing Voidspire – a timed damage-and-healing buff that triggers after about 25 seconds of combat and lasts 35 seconds, with an internal cooldown.
These picks aim to keep Valeera contributing steady damage when Mandate cannot be relied upon.
All Curios Valeera can equip in Season 1
Below is a compact guide to every Curio Valeera has access to in Season 1 and what each one does. Numbers and durations are included to help you compare impact.
Combat Curios
- Holy Bounding Hand Grenade: Valeera has a chance to toss a grenade that deals moderate Holy damage and has a 50% chance to stun for 1.5 seconds. The grenade can bounce (40% chance) to another target and may hit party members safely.
- Mantle of Stars: When any party member falls below 40% health, this mantle grants an absorb shield equal to 50% of that ally’s max health. Enemies near the shielded ally and Valeera are knocked up and take 25% more damage for 12 seconds.
- Nether Entropic Kris: Valeera can afflict enemies with Nether Entropy, dealing moderate Void damage over 30 seconds. Each tick has a 15% chance to spread to a nearby enemy and the effect can stack up to five times.
- Porcelain Blade Tip: Valeera’s spells and abilities can weaken enemies so they are 10% more likely to be critically struck for 9 seconds. This is the top Combat pick for consistent damage gains.
- Sanctum’s Edict: Valeera can gain Sanctum’s Blessings from combat or killing foes. Normal enemies grant one blessing and elites grant five. Each blessing gives 1% increased healing and damage. At 15 blessings Valeera converts 30% of her current health into an absorb that increases the blessing bonuses while active.
Utility Curios
- Ebon Crown of Subjugation: Opening a Mislaid Curiosity summons a Subjugated Burden that grants 1% Primary Stat while it “worships” you. You can have up to six at once; after collecting six the Primary Stat per Burden increases.
- Mandate of Sacred Death: When Valeera casts Tools of the Trade, a Sacred Mandate is applied that gives party members a 5.0% chance to deal additional Holy damage equal to 1% of the target’s maximum health per Mandate. This effect can occur once per target every 2 seconds and is why Mandate spikes on Delves with profession nodes.
- Motionless Nulltide: Standing still grants stacks of Cosmic Momentum every 6 seconds, up to 10 stacks. Each stack increases movement speed by 1%. Jumping at 10 stacks consumes them to grant 1% Haste per stack for 10 seconds and knocks up nearby enemies. The jump effect has a 20 second reuse window.
- Overflowing Voidspire: After roughly 25 seconds of combat, Valeera and party members deal 18% more damage and healing for 35 seconds. This effect then goes on cooldown.
- Time Lost Edict: Valeera can create a sanctified area that alters time for those inside. Allies gain 5% movement speed, faster cooldown recharge, and increased cast speed while enemies suffer the opposite effects. The area lasts 12 seconds.
