The iconic Verdansk map is returning to Warzone on April 3 as part of Call of Duty’s Season 3 update. Activision has revealed a new launch trailer rich in nostalgia while showcasing the dynamic action players can expect.
The trailer features Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody,” setting an energetic tone as it showcases a series of operators from both past and present. Players will see familiar faces like Captain Price, Ghost, Gaz, and Farah from current Warfare 2019, alongside Sev and Troy Marshall from Black Ops 6. Notably, Peter Stormare’s character, The Replacer, also appears.
This iteration of Verdansk pays homage to its original design while introducing vehicular warfare elements crucial to its charm. Viewers can expect interesting chase scenes featuring helicopter explosions and SUVs equipped with sentry turrets.
The team behind Warzone has made concerted efforts across multiple studios to bring back Verdansk with the classic look and feel. Vehicles have been fine-tuned to resemble their past capabilities. Also, the Verdansk map was rebuilt using updated technology, enhancing visuals while retaining Infinity Ward’s original vision for the space.
