Warzone’s Battle Royale just got a second big map, and it swaps every 10 minutes
Raven Software added Avalon to traditional Battle Royale in a rotating playlist that also keeps Verdansk in the mix, but only Quads can queue for it at launch.

Call of Duty: Warzone now gives players two large-scale Battle Royale maps instead of one. Avalon has joined Verdansk in a new big map rotation, and the playlist swaps between the two every 10 minutes.
Raven Software announced the change on X, where the studio said it was excited to bring Avalon into the traditional Battle Royale experience. The move gives players a single playlist for both maps instead of forcing them to bounce between separate queues.
We're excited to finally introduce Avalon to our traditional Battle Royale experience!
Avalon and Verdansk will rotate every 10 minutes – so enjoy both experiences or queue into your preferred map.

Avalon was originally built for Black Ops 7 Endgame cccand had only appeared in the Blackout-style Black Ops Royale before this rotation landed in standard Battle Royale. That means the map is now being asked to do a very different job, with loadouts, buy stations, permanent perks, grappling hooks, and wall jumps all in play.
There is one catch at launch. The big map rotation is only available in Quads, so squads of four are the only way to jump into Avalon and Verdansk in this mode right now. Solo, Duo, and Trio playlists are not available yet, though players can technically go in alone by turning off squad fill and facing full teams.
Avalon is also missing from Casual Battle Royale at launch, which leaves the new map out of the more relaxed bot-assisted playlist for the moment. Even so, the addition gives Warzone a much more flexible top-end playlist and a fresh way to keep both maps active without locking one away.
If you have been waiting for more map variety in Warzone, this is a pretty clear step in that direction. Share your thoughts in the comments, and follow us on X, Bluesky, YouTube, Instagram.
