Valheim’s success is yet to be measured properly, as it’s still in an ascending phase in every segment. The amount of concurrent players is still increasing, alongside purchases and everything else. Considering its Early Access status, we believe this is just the beginning of a long and never-tiring journey for a game like this. Valheim has recently achieved another milestone and managed to surpass Dota 2’s concurrent player number, even if for a day.
The record of concurrent players now affirms at 502,387 players. This is the highest number of players that have been online at the same time, breaking Dota 2’s for the same day. This has put Valheim in the second position, just behind Counter-Strike, Valve’s gallant at this current moment.
At the time of this writing, Iron Gate’s Valheim is standing in the fourth position, just behind PUBG. The game will most probably reach a higher number of players throughout the end of the day when more players log in to play. This is the only game that reached this amount of concurrent players in a concise time, without having any “streamer influence” behind it.
Valheim has recently sold over 3 million copies, and if it goes with this flow, the number of players is estimated to grow even bigger.
