Ubisoft Update confirms Rayman project but says news won’t come soon

Rayman is getting a future project, and Ubisoft confirmed teams at Montpellier and Milan are working together. The update arrived via the Rayman X account on the character’s 30th birthday, but the publisher warned that tangible news would not be forthcoming soon.

While Rayman records the series’ prominence in past years, the character has been largely quiet recently. The Rayman X account posted for the first time in over four years, marking the anniversary and hinting at active development. Brand Producer Loic Gounon appears in the short clip and confirms a project is in the works with teams at Montpellier and Milan. The message is straightforward – there is progress, but fans should not expect frequent updates.

Rayman first appeared in 1996 on Atari Jaguar, PlayStation, Sega Saturn, and MS-DOS, and later saw ports to handhelds and mobile devices. A feature examines how established franchises changed genres and found new audiences, which helps explain Rayman’s lasting visibility. The last mainline entry was Rayman Legends in 2013, with subsequent ports to modern consoles. Spin-offs kept the universe active while the core series remained quiet.
