Ubisoft co-founder and CEO Yves Guillemot confirmed in a recent interview that the company has two Far Cry projects in development and several Assassin’s Creed titles underway.

The two Far Cry efforts are known internally under the codenames Blackbird and Maverick. Blackbird is positioned as the next mainline Far Cry entry. Maverick is described as an extraction-style shooter. Sources indicate Maverick has been rescoped and iterated multiple times during development, with the most recent major change occurring late last year. Blackbird has also faced internal delays on several occasions, with the most recent delay occurring earlier this year as part of Ubisoft’s restructuring.

Guillemot confirmed that multiple Assassin’s Creed projects are in development, spanning both single-player and multiplayer formats. Insider Gaming sources say three Assassin’s Creed projects are fully locked in. The listed projects include Invictus, identified as a multiplayer title, and Obsidian, described as the Assassin’s Creed Black Flag remake. Both Invictus and Obsidian are scheduled to release later this year. A third project, codenamed Neo and publicly known as Hexe, is now scheduled for release in 2027.

As part of Ubisoft’s restructuring, two Assassin’s Creed projects were cancelled internally. One was the already released mobile title Assassin’s Creed Rebellion. The other was Assassin’s Creed Singularity, which sources say had been in development for a couple of years. Singularity was intended to be a virtual trading card game that included Web3 and blockchain integration and was planned for PC and mobile platforms.
