Two new PS5 releases are due the week of January 5 to 11, and PlayStation Plus Essential gets a small refresh early in the week.
Bunny Rampage: History of Revenge (January 8, PS5) puts players in control of Max, a plush rabbit brought to life. It mixes platforming, combat against waves of enemies, and puzzle elements across varied locations, including New York streets and an alien bunker. Previews on the PlayStation Store emphasize its fast-paced romp and whimsical tone.
I Am Future: Cozy Apocalypse Survival (January 8, PS5) is a slower, base-building take set on an abandoned rooftop. Players will build and furnish a camp, set up power systems, and explore a calm world that encourages creative play rather than combat.
PS Plus Essential additions
On January 6, three titles join PS Plus Essential: Need for Speed: Unbound, Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed, and Core Keeper. These entries span arcade racing, a remaster of a platformer with a nostalgic twist, and sandbox mining and crafting.
The push of these three onto the Essential tier gives players a handful of different ways to spend a few hours early in the year, whether that means racing, revisiting a Disney platformer, or digging into base building and co-op play.
