Top weapons to carry in Dying Light: The Beast

A concise rundown of strong melee and ranged options for surviving Dying Light: The Beast.

An overview of the best weapons in Dying Light: The Beast to help players choose reliable melee and ranged tools for surviving infected encounters. List covers shotguns, axes, bows, and bladed knuckles, with short notes on where blueprints appear and how each weapon fares against small groups or larger crowds.

  • Military Shotgun delivers extreme close-range damage with its pump-action blasts. Ammo tends to be scarce during extended fights, so players should reserve shells for tougher foes and crowd control moments.
  • Slashers are modified knuckle dusters fitted with razor blades, ideal for rapid one-on-one engagements. Blueprint for the Slashers appears in the Groundskeeper’s House on the eastern edge of the map, making them an early target for scavengers.
  • Reinforced Camp Axe is a straightforward one-handed axe that accepts a variety of upgrades and attachments. Versatility makes it useful against small groups of infected and for quick repairs between bigger fights.
  • Hunting Bow starts underpowered but grows into a silent, precise option after upgrades. Upgraded arrows and draw speed allow stealthy takedowns of soldiers and lone infected without alerting nearby threats.
  • Fire Station Greataxe handles large clusters of enemies with heavy, sweeping strikes. Large swings can decapitate multiple targets at once, making it a natural choice for clearing tight spaces.

Other options, such as the Skull Cracker hammer, still have situational value, especially against armored targets or when a blunt approach is needed. You can take a look at our Dying Light: The Beast review.
