Fans of the Titanfall series might want to temper their excitement as new rumors regarding Titanfall 3 have been labeled false by industry insider Jeff Grubb. Following a leak that suggested a near-complete game with impressive features, Grubb took to his platform to explain the situation and reignite discussions on what’s going on at Respawn Entertainment.
During a recent episode of Game Breaking News, Grubb directly addressed claims made by Apex Legends leaker Osvaldatore. With a firm tone, he stated, “This isn’t real. I’m sorry. It’s not real.” His comments appear to put a hard stop on any talk surrounding potential developments for a new installment in the favorite franchise.
The discussion didn’t end there. Grubb elaborated on Respawn’s current focus, mentioning that they have a small team possibly working on concepts involving Titans. However, they clarified that these are likely just prototypes rather than full-fledged projects ready for announcement or release. “Does [Titanfall 1 director] Steve Fukuda have something like a prototype that has titans in it? I would guess so,” he shared, though he cast doubt on imminent forthcoming announcements. “Now, will that be announced in 2025 and released in 2026? No way.”
Grubb further detailed EA’s recent pattern of canceling projects associated with Respawn, including the previously mentioned Titanfall Legends, a project many hoped would evolve into Titanfall 3. He bluntly advised fans against expecting an Unreal Engine 5 single-player experience or any extensive multiplayer offerings from this franchise anytime soon.
