Rare Atom just made a pretty interesting move by bringing in Junbing “Tiger” Zhen from DogEvil to fill in for Aojie “Trash” Tian on their active lineup. This switch might shake things up for the Chinese CS:GO squad, especially with their upcoming BLAST Bounty S2 event in August.
Trash only had four matches with Rare Atom before getting the bench, which is kinda wild considering he was the highest-rated player (1.27) when they won GangKui Cup Season 1. But things took a nosedive at FISSURE Playground 1 in Belgrade, where Rare Atom didn’t snag a single map win. That slump probably pushed the team to try something different.
Tiger, a 22-year-old AWPer, has been holding it down for DogEvil in 2025 with a solid 1.19 rating. He also helped them qualify for MESA Asian Masters 2025, where they finished 5th-6th. Seems like he might be the fresh spark Rare Atom needs.
This revamped lineup will debut at BLAST Bounty S2 starting August 5. Here’s who’s on the team now:
- YuLun “Summer” Cai (China)
- Andrew “kaze” Khong (Malaysia)
- Junhao “ChildKing” Peng (China)
- Yihang “L1haNg” Li (China)
- Junbing “Tiger” Zhen (China)
Coach: Zhenghui “z8z” Liu (China)
Substitute: Aojie “Trash” Tian (China)
Will Tiger’s entry turn things around for Rare Atom? It’s tough to say, but given Trash’s rough recent run, this change might be what the team needs to find some rhythm again. I’m curious how Tiger will mesh with the squad, especially on such a big stage.
