Activision has teased that Season 01 will introduce “a colossal amount of free content,” expanding on not only Black Ops 6 multiplayer but also adding new maps for Zombies and Warzone. Players can look forward to a fresh Warzone Resurgence map, Area 99, crafted for fast-paced skirmishes and strategic takedowns. Set in the Nevada desert, Area 99, more formally known as Echo Ridge Weapons Station, harkens back to the 1950s as a covert government site, only miles away from Nuketown’s infamous testing grounds.
Just days before the Season 01 update, Black Ops 6 saw the arrival of Infected mode, a fan-favorite that pits survivors against an evolving wave of infected players. Following closely, Nuketown was reintroduced on Friday, adding a nostalgic flair to the game’s map rotation and fueling anticipation for what’s coming next.
Released on October 25, Black Ops 6 hit a new milestone by becoming the first Call of Duty title on Game Pass on day one. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella highlighted the game’s phenomenal launch performance, reporting record-breaking day-one player counts and a substantial boost in Game Pass subscribers. Sales on PlayStation and Steam are also up over 60% year-over-year, marking this as the biggest Call of Duty release to date.
