Final Fantasy XIV is an MMORPG for PC, developed and published by Square Enix in 2010. The 14th entry in the main Final Fantasy and the second MMORPG in the series after Final Fantasy XI. Currently, it sits as one of the most popular MMO’s in the world, even before its free trial got expanded to level 60.

In a Twitter post by the official Twitter account for FFXIV, it was revealed that the game would be getting huge announcements, starting on February 5th, 2021:

We've got something else in store…

✨ Introducing the #FFXIV Announcement Showcase! ✨

We'll be announcing cool things 👀

The last expansion, Shadowbringers, was released back in 2019 after it was announced in 2018, so we’re probably going to either get a 2021 or 2022 release window. If this year’s Fan Fest hadn’t been canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the next expansion would likely have been announced there.

If you’re into MMORPGs like World of Warcraft or Guild Wars 2, Final Fantasy 14 is definitely a must-try. It currently has a free trial that will allow players to play until level 60. Stay tuned for more news on the expansion.

I've spent half of my life playing video games, ever since the competitive 1.6 era. Now I am happily married to Margarita Kicevski, and have two beautiful children. My goal is to deliver fresh news and updates, but most of the time I want to work on guides. Since I have rebooted this website, I am planning on making it huge. Just you wait!
