The Game Awards has just declared the game of the year for 2020. The PlayStation exclusive, Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us Part 2, was chosen to be the GOTY for 2020. Undoubtedly, it was somewhat known that The Last of Us Part 2 would reach the unreachable. The success of The Last of Us Part 2 fissures in multiple reasons of why this game is where it is supposed to be. With Cyberpunk 2077 out of the way, there were not many contenders that could’ve snatched the top spot.
With numerous milestones under Naughty Dog’s belt, it is fair to say that the GOTY award was well deserved. Since its release, The Last Of Us Part 2 has been pounding breakthroughs daily. Back in July, The Last of Us 2 was confirmed to be the most downloaded PS4 game for June.
Overall, The Last of Us Part 2, against all the nominees and authority, deserved the praise and, more importantly, has reached the place where it belongs.
