The First Descendant March 26 patch will correct Alignment Device tier bug
Nexon said a server-side boundary handling error could return a lower-tier option even when a higher tier was guaranteed; a fix will arrive with the March 26 (Thu) update.

Nexon confirmed an issue with the in-game item called the Alignment Device and said the problem will be fixed in the March 26 (Thu) patch. The developer warned that, under certain conditions, the device could grant an option one tier lower than the guaranteed tier when players readjust Ancestors Modules.
The studio said the server handles option tier generation and sends those results to the client, and an error occurred while handling the numeric boundaries that define each tier. Instead of selecting values from the full minimum-to-maximum range of the intended tier, the system sometimes used a range that began at the previous tier’s top value and extended up to the intended tier’s maximum.
That meant if the server generated the minimum possible value for the guaranteed tier, the outcome could fall into the lower-tier band and yield a lower option. Nexon apologized for the inconvenience and said it would expand its investigation to other readjustment-related systems and items to confirm whether similar boundary errors exist elsewhere.
The developer added it will publish a follow-up notice with details on fixes, steps to prevent recurrence, and any compensation for affected players once the review concludes.
