Imagine snagging a Victory Royale while cruising at 40,000 feet! That’s precisely what Twitch star Tfue did, and Elon Musk couldn’t help but share his excitement. Tfue pulled off a Fortnite win on a Qatar Airways flight using Starlink internet, showing off just how far gaming tech has come.
Turner ‘Tfue’ Tenney is no stranger to Fortnite fame, but this time he took his skills to the skies. On May 12, a clip of him playing Fortnite Mobile mid-flight went viral. He said, “Got the makeshift Fortnite setup on Qatar Airways, we’re going to London. They have Starlink now so that you can game online. First game, Victory Royale.”
Qatar Airways started equipping planes with Starlink internet in October 2024, making high-altitude online gaming a reality. Elon Musk has experienced gaming on planes using Starlink, even playing Path of Exile 2 during a flight. After Tfue’s clip blew up online, Musk took to X to share a simple but enthusiastic response: “Cool.”
Tfue responded to the attention with a proud “We made it >” on X, perfectly capturing the moment. While the exact hardware setup remains a mystery, it’s clear from the video and Tfue’s posts that he was playing Fortnite Mobile and using his signature Finalmouse mouse.

Fans quickly chimed in with reactions like, “Now THIS is EPIC,” and “Tfue really said ‘sky’s the limit’ and meant it, literally gaming at 40,000 feet with Starlink! GG at cruising altitude.” Others joked about their own struggles with Wi-Fi, saying things like, “Meanwhile, I lose connection if I walk to the kitchen.”
This event comes shortly after Epic Games won a lawsuit against Apple, allowing Fortnite Mobile to return to the iOS App Store after nearly five years. This adds even more excitement for mobile Fortnite fans.
