TC Carson may have just revived the weirdest God of War debate

The original Kratos voice actor told IGN, "I think so" when asked whether the Greek-era sex minigames would return in Santa Monica Studio's PS5 remake trilogy.

TC Carson may have added fresh fuel to one of the strangest questions around God of War‘s PS5 remake trilogy. Asked by IGN whether the series’ sex minigames would return, the original Kratos voice actor answered, “You know what, all you dudes, all you men… I think so.”

That is not a hard confirmation, but it is the closest thing fans have heard so far. Carson repeated, “I said I think so,” after the interviewer called it “breaking news,” which leaves room for doubt while still pointing toward a familiar, very odd piece of the old Greek-era formula.

The minigames have been part of the franchise’s early identity since the original trilogy, including scenes that play out with the kind of over-the-top humor the older games leaned into constantly. That is why the remake trilogy has already become a talking point, especially among players wondering how much of the original tone Santa Monica Studio will preserve.

The issue has also been front of mind for readers in our own PS Plus Essential discussion and in the conversation around how modern remakes handle older material. For God of War, the challenge is simple enough to say and messy enough to execute. Keep too much, and it can feel dated. Cut too much, and it stops feeling like the same series.

For now, Carson has not confirmed anything outright. He has, though, given fans a quote that will keep this debate going until Santa Monica Studio shows more of the remake trilogy. Tell us what you think in the comments, and join us on X, Bluesky, YouTube, Instagram.
