Take-Two has responded to the recent announcement that Grand Theft Auto 6 will be delayed until May 26, 2026. The company’s CEO, Strauss Zelnick, shared a statement emphasizing support for Rockstar Games’ choice to take extra time to polish the game.
In a statement posted on Take-Two’s investor relations site, Zelnick said, “We support fully Rockstar Games taking additional time to realize their creative vision for Grand Theft Auto VI, which promises to be a innovative, blockbuster entertainment experience that exceeds audience expectations.”
He added that while the delay is taken seriously, the company remains committed to quality. Take-Two expects to continue releasing strong titles and anticipates a multi-year period of growth and increased value for shareholders.
The company also mentioned expectations to achieve record Net Bookings in Fiscal 2026 and 2027 despite the delay.
