According to Capcom, Street Fighter 6 has officially sold more than 5 million copies worldwide. This milestone marks a strong performance just two years after its release, and sales are expected to grow further with the game’s launch on the new Nintendo Switch 2 system.
A recent social media post from the official Street Fighter account celebrated the achievement: “Street Fighter 6 has now sold over 5 million copies! What a way to celebrate our 2nd anniversary! Thanks to all our fans out there around the world and to all the prospective fans in the future!”

At 5 million copies, Street Fighter 6 ranks as the third best-selling game in the franchise. The top spot remains with Street Fighter 5, which launched in 2016 and has sold 7.8 million copies. Just ahead in second place is the classic Street Fighter 2, released in 1992, with 6.3 million copies sold.
For some perspective, Street Fighter 2 has been available for over three decades, while Street Fighter 5 has had nine years on the market. Street Fighter 6 reached this 5 million milestone in just two years, which is impressive. Interestingly, the SNES version, Street Fighter II Turbo, sold 4.1 million copies alone, with multiple other versions adding to the franchise’s overall success.
Looking ahead, Capcom continues to support Street Fighter 6 with regular updates and new characters. At Summer Game Fest 2025, the Year 3 DLC lineup was announced, revealing Sagat’s arrival this summer, C. Viper in the fall, Alex in early spring 2026, and Ingrid in late spring 2026.
