Critically acclaimed Stray is ready to debut on Xbox consoles on August 10, announced by the publisher Annapurna Interactive. This confirms speculation following a sighting of an ESRB rating for an unannounced Xbox game version.
Set in a post-apocalyptic world, Stray invites players to step into the paw prints of a solitary feline. After inadvertently falling into a walled city, the player-controlled cat embarks on a journey to return to the surface, interacting with a community of robotic inhabitants along the way.
When Stray initially launched on PC, it quickly climbed the ranks, securing its place as Annapurna’s biggest release on the platform to date. The game achieved impressive figures, boasting over 62,000 concurrent players.
Not only did Stray make its mark in terms of player numbers, but it also received high praise within the gaming community. It was the second-highest-rated game on Steam in 2022, trailing just behind Vampire Survivors.
The game’s acclaim didn’t stop at player reviews. Stray has been nominated for several awards and has already secured several wins. These include Best Debut at the Game Developers Choice Awards and Best Independent Game and Best Debut Indie Game at The Game Awards 2022.
