The first trailer for Stranger Things Season 5 just surfaced, giving us a chilling glimpse of Vecna’s new, terrifying final form. This matters because Vecna has been the creepiest villain yet, and the upcoming season promises the ultimate clash in Hawkins.
Vecna, introduced in Season 4 as the show’s most formidable villain, was once Subject 001 under Dr. Brenner. After Eleven banished him to the Upside Down, he mutated into a horrifying monster. By the end of Season 4, he had almost killed Max and caused chaos all over Hawkins.
According to Netflix, Season 5 centers on the heroes uniting “to find and kill Vecna.” The trailer gives us a brief glimpse of Vecna around the 2:09 mark, where he ominously utters “Found you” in his gravely, haunting voice before either deflecting or unleashing a fiery blast. It’s spine-tingling stuff!
The story begins in the fall of 1987. Hawkins is still reeling from the Rifts’ opening, but Vecna has mysteriously vanished. Meanwhile, the government places the town under military quarantine and intensifies the hunt for Eleven, forcing her into hiding once again.
