The PC release comes a bit more than a year after the PlayStation 5 debut on April 26, 2024. SHIFTUP, previously known for mobile titles like Goddess of Victory: Nikke, made a strong impression with their first AAA project. Stellar Blade was praised as one of the best action games of the year and sold over a million copies within just over a month. That’s quite a feat for a new IP! Also, there’s a sequel already in development, which is interesting news.
Over time, the game has received updates mostly focused on adding new costumes for the protagonist Eve. Interestingly, Eve became part of a cultural conversation about how female video game characters should look, a debate that still pops up occasionally.
Regardless of all that, Stellar Blade stands out as a solid action game on its own. Whether you dress Eve in a casual sweatshirt or something more revealing, the gameplay shines. The style reminds me of a mix between Devil May Cry and Bayonetta. I personally spent about fifty hours with the single-player mode, including a New Game+ run. It was one of my favorite games last year, and I’d definitely suggest PC gamers give it a try if action games are your thing. You might be pleasantly surprised.
What do you think about Stellar Blade finally coming to PC? Are you planning to jump in right at launch or wait a bit? Let me know in the comments below—I’d love to hear your thoughts!
