What appears to be a massive milestone for Valve, Steam received well over 36 million concurrent users for the first time in 2024. This is a record-breaking moment, entertaining 11,576,186 users who have been gaming simultaneously.
Earlier this year, Steam celebrated an all-time high of over 33.6 million users, which an extra 1 million users then passed. But having 36 million users at the same time, that speaks for itself… Thanks to SteamDB, we can see the actual numbers that the platform reached.
According to it, the platform has supported 36,354,393 users logged in simultaneously. The Steam Deck has also contributed to this success, currently supporting over 14,000 titles. It’s amazing to be a part of this, and we’re excited to see how much more Steam can grow.
Even though layoffs have struck the gaming industry as a whole, the numbers are talking something else. So, whose fault is it for that? AI, perhaps?
