Earlier reporting suggested the team’s “intent” to bring Starfield to PlayStation could be flagged in 2025, but this latest message says any formal announcement is probably not coming this year. Separately, a report from another source earlier in the year said Starfield and a new expansion should reach PS5 by spring 2026, which lines up with the later announcement window.
Microsoft has not ruled out a PlayStation version. When Phil Spencer was asked about the topic he stated, “here’s no reason for me to put a ring fence around any game and say this game will not go to a place that it will find players where we would have business success for us.” Bethesda has been teasing Starfield related items in other ways too, including the brief Terran Armada nod in an anniversary post, and the developer has mentioned its next DLC three times without confirming details.
