Microsoft’s multi-platform approach has seen more Xbox games show up on PS5, but Starfield is still missing from the lineup. The delay seems partly tied to the first expansion, Shattered Space, not performing as well as hoped. So, the big rollout for PS5 is pushed back, preparing for a better launch window with fresh content.
Starfield on PS5 Won’t Arrive in 2025
Sources told MP1st that Starfield’s PS5 release is scheduled for spring 2026, that’s roughly mid-March to mid-June for anyone outside the US. Don’t expect any surprise announcements at this year’s Gamescom either; the PS5 version won’t be shadowdropped like Bethesda’s Oblivion Remastered was recently. So, if you were counting on a sudden reveal, you might wanna chill for now.
There are lots of moving parts behind release plans, so things could still shift. But based on what’s known, a 2025 launch just isn’t happening. It’s a bummer, but maybe they want to get everything right and bundle the PS5 debut with expansion 2 and updates.
On the bright side, other Xbox titles are coming to PS5 sooner. Gears of War: Reloaded will arrive this August, and rumors say Gears of War: E-Day and State of Decay 3 might follow. So, PS5 players aren’t left out.
