Starfield Datamine Hints at Real-Time Interplanetary Ship Travel

New datamine suggests Starfield might soon allow players to travel between planets without loading screens.

Starfield fans have been waiting patiently for fresh updates from Bethesda, and a recent datamine hints at something pretty interesting: a feature that could let players fly between planets in real-time. That’s quite a step up from the usual loading screens between worlds.

Earlier this year, Bethesda mentioned they had “a lot of interesting things” planned for Starfield, but details have been scarce. A post spotted on the r/Starfield subreddit (via GameRant) reveals someone sifted through thousands of lines of code and found references to a ship entering a “cruise mode.” That sounds like it could be the game’s way of allowing players to travel across planets within the same star system without those usual interruptions.

New Findings in the last 2 update suggest Dev team is adding a highly request feature: Interplanetary Travel

Right now, moving from one planet to another in Starfield involves a loading screen, which can break immersion. The idea of a cruise mode where you can just fly smoothly between planets might change how the game feels and plays. It’s kinda cool to think about, don’t you agree? But since this info comes from data mining rather than official announcements, it’s wise to keep expectations in check.

Meanwhile, there’s chatter about Starfield coming to PlayStation 5 in 2026 along with a second expansion, which could add even more to the experience.
