Starbreeze Studios recently announced that they’ve fixed the server problems that troubled Payday 3 since its launch. Despite this positive development, the game continues to suffer from mostly negative reviews on Steam. The issues were initially blamed on third-party matchmaking software, but the company assures these have been resolved.
When Payday 3 was released, it was quickly met with server-related issues that hindered gameplay. Players reported long wait times, disconnections, and game crashes. Starbreeze blamed these issues on an “unforeseen error” in the game’s third-party matchmaking software, which couldn’t handle many players trying to connect. This led to negative reviews on Steam, casting a cloud over the game’s debut.
According to a recent update, maintenance has been done to correct the initial matchmaking problems. The company reports that “matchmaking has been stable and has had good performance” since the maintenance was completed.
Starbreeze CEO Tobias Sjögren expressed his gratitude towards the player community for their patience. In his statement, he said, “Our business model is a marathon and not a sprint and we will tirelessly continue to build Payday 3 bigger and better.“
