August is going to be a busy month in Star Wars: The Old Republic, with two fresh events that promise to disrupt your gameplay and reward your efforts with some neat gear and companions. Whether you’re defending the pastoral world of Dantooine or hunting bounties across the galaxy, there’s something for everyone willing to go back into this sprawling MMORPG.
First up, from August 5 to August 11, the Pirate Incursion event drops players into the middle of a heated conflict. The peaceful planet of Dantooine has suddenly become a battlefield as the Galactic Republic and Sith Empire clash, fueled by secret Imperial backing of the Nova Blade pirates. If you’re level 20 or above, this is your chance to help defend this key world and maybe snag some sweet rewards while you’re at it.
The event’s featured rewards include the Nova Blade and Dantooine Homesteader Armor Sets, a new Ugnaught companion, and a couple of mounts like the Walker and Kath Hound, which also comes as a mini-pet. Plus, there are Dantooine-inspired stronghold decorations to spruce up your personal space. That’s quite the haul for a week-long event, right?
Then, starting August 19 and running through August 25, the Bounty Contract Week kicks off. This one’s open to players level 15 and up, throwing you into the mercenary life under the banner of the Bounty Brokers Association. You’ll get to take on daily contracts—one standard Henchman contract and one high-profile Kingpin contract. Complete five standard agreements, and you unlock Kingpin missions with bigger rewards. Sounds like a grind, but hey, the loot is tempting.
Speaking of loot, the rewards here are pretty tempting: reputation with the Bounty Brokers Association, two armor sets (Bounty Tracker’s and Contract Hunter’s), new weapons like the Assassin’s Bowcaster and Elite Tracker’s Bowcaster, and mini-pets including Lobelot, Swamp Kell Drake, and Drink Server Probe. Not to mention the BH-7X Custom Hunter Mount, which looks like a beast you want to ride across the galaxy.
Both events start and end precisely at 12:00PM GMT, so you’ll want to remember. Do you prefer fighting off pirate incursions or hunting bounties? Either way, these events should add some variety to your SWTOR routine this month… and maybe even spice up your gear collection.
