Broadsword closed out its Game Update 7.8 “Pursuit of Ruin” livestream with a VOD and a clear roadmap of what players can expect when the update arrives in December 2025. The stream covered new open-world content on Dantooine, PvP Season 9, Twitch drops, and holiday events, alongside Cartel Market additions and a short timeline for producer communications in 2026.
Watch the VODs below.
Quick hits – Twitch drops and sales
From now until December 4 players who watch one hour of eligible Twitch streams will earn a Voss Poster Decoration. At the 7.8 launch viewers need four hours of Twitch watch time to claim the Twilight Acklay Mount. Players must link their SWTOR and Twitch accounts through their SWTOR account page to be eligible. A 50 percent off Collections Unlock sale runs until December 9.
Dantooine – dynamic encounters and a new stronghold

7.8 adds a new Crash Site Outpost on Dantooine for level 80 players. The site is built around expanding biomes that level up as players complete Dynamic Encounters. Each biome brings environmental hazards and new encounter types as it evolves. When a biome finishes leveling, a Master Mode boss called the Orbital Core becomes available. The encounter is aimed at groups of four but the update includes a Reputation track that makes the boss easier over time and grants consumables that help with the encounters.
Rewards will be distributed across a variety of sources. Players can earn armor, mounts, minipets, decorations and titles via a Reputation Vendor, encounter completion, enemy kills, boss drops, achievements and other vendors. Progress on the Reputation track will unlock the Dantooine Stronghold as a purchasable homestead with additional room keys obtainable at higher reputation tiers.
This emphasis on dynamic, evolving zones is a clear follow-up to BioWare’s earlier work on world systems. For context see our preview of Game Update 7.7 ‘Dynamic Worlds’ which covered the initial experiments with similar systems.
PvP Season 9 – Outer Rim Gladiators

PvP Season 9 launches with 7.8 and runs for 16 weeks. The season track and achievement set include a new set of armor styles, jetpack decorations, season trophies, flags and legacy titles. Season achievements lay out goals such as reaching level 30 on the reward track and earning medals across Arenas and Warzones. BioWare said a dedicated Season 9 article with more granular details will follow closer to launch.
Cartel Market and bundles

At 7.8 launch the Cartel Market will add a new armor set, a Yavin utility and equipment bundle packed with decorations, and other cosmetic items. The Yavin equipment bundle lists a long run of placeable lights conduits and industrial props intended for freighter and base decorating. As a practical quality of life tweak, large ceiling hooks were updated to accept smaller decorations.
Mobile Market subscription bundle and dates
BioWare announced a limited Master the Fight bundle for the Mobile Market available November 25, 2025 to January 13, 2026. The bundle includes 180 days of fixed subscription time with monthly Cartel Coin grants, a cache of instant Cartel Coins, several droid companions and minipets, dyes, and a rideable GDU MG Droid Carrier mount with companion and minipet compatibility.
Holiday calendar and anniversary

Life Day runs December 16 through January 13, 2026 with activities like snowball fights and Wookiee hugs and rewards including the Vectron Tinsel Taxi Mount. SWTORs 14th anniversary runs December 16 to January 6, 2026 and coincides with a 50 percent off Collections Unlock sale and Inspired By items sale. A Double XP event runs December 23 to January 3, 2026.
Active Subscribers who log in at least four times weekly during the login event can earn Login Tokens to buy Rakata gear, experience boosts and other items. That subscriber login event ends December 9.
PTS and producer notes
The Dantooine Dynamic Encounters are currently on the PTS. BioWare asked for feedback via the SWTOR forums and scheduled a PTS playtest on Twitch with Eric Musco on November 21 from 1pm to 3pm CT. An Executive Producer letter is due in December, along with a 2026 Roadmap.

Not to sound rude, but BioWare hasn’t been involved with TOR in over two years. Broadsword is now in charge of the game, so you might want to update this (And your past SWTOR articles) to reflect that.
Thanks for the headsup! <3. I thought BioWare is still the studio behind it all these years. Oh man. I will try to update them all right away!
