STAR WARS: The Old Republic 7.7a Patch Brings Key Fixes and Quality of Life Tweaks

Update 7.7a fixes mission bugs, improves travel, and restores GTN search features in SWTOR.

STAR WARS: The Old Republic just rolled out its 7.7a patch, which tackles some annoying bugs and adds a few handy tweaks players will notice right away. Whether you’re grinding missions or hunting for gear on the Galactic Trade Network, this update smooths out some rough edges bugging the community.

first, the Sprint passive now only kicks in when you’re on foot and out of combat – no more sprinting while mounted or fighting, which makes sense but wasn’t working correctly before. Also, the current Button on the GTN is back! You can now search for specific armor sets again, which is a relief if you’ve been manually digging through many listings.

One fix I found pretty cool is the elevator on Dromund Kaas near the Sith Sanctum. Previously, arriving downstairs would incapacitate your character, which was a weird roadblock. Now, you get down without any hassle. Plus, Quick Travel won’t let you zip to the opposite faction’s QTPs via the new dropdown menu anymore — probably to keep faction boundaries clear.

Mission players, listen up! You can now interact with specific panels needed to progress in some missions that were glitching out. This includes quests like The End of Torvix (HEROIC+2), High Society, The Memory Heist, The Eagle’s Nest, and Spreading the Word.

They also fixed a couple of dynamic encounter issues. On Tython, the droid parts in the “There is Serenity” encounter no longer hang around after interaction, and on Ord Mantell, players won’t get teleported unexpectedly after finishing the “Power Walking” encounter. These little things really add up.

Lastly, for those grinding through the Ilum Era, the patch corrected an issue where some players saw the Era marked as incomplete even after finishing certain missions. That’s gotta feel good.

Overall, this patch is mostly about smoothing out gameplay annoyances and restoring some handy features. Nothing earth-shattering but definitely welcome if you’ve been stuck or frustrated with the bugs. What do you think about these fixes? Have you run into these issues yourself? Hit the comments below and let me know!

I am Mihaela and stay tuned for more!
