The latest addition to EA‘s action-adventure games, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, has topped the US software sales chart in April amidst a flurry of new chart entrants. The game clinched the number one spot on the monthly chart based on two days of sales.
Despite the limited time window, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor demonstrated its immense popularity, now ranking as the fourth best-selling game of 2023. April proved to be a month of significant activity in the gaming world, with seven of the month’s top 15 best-selling games being new releases.
Dead Island 2 debuted at no.2, ranking sixth in year-to-date dollar sales. PGA Tour, Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection, Minecraft Legends, Final Fantasy 1-6 Bundle, and Advance Wars 1+2: Re-boot Camp also emerged among the top 15.
In console sales, PS5 led the market in dollar sales, while Nintendo Switch was the top-selling console in units sold. The launch of the Zelda Switch OLED model contributed significantly to this success, with Circana analyst Mat Piscatella noting its significant impact.
