Squad Busters Shatters Records, it’s Supercell’s Fastest Growing Game Ever

Supercell, the legends behind Clash of Clans and Brawl Stars, have done it again. Their latest venture, Squad Busters, is smashing records left and right. This game hit 5 million downloads faster than you can say “legendary drop.”

So, what’s the deal with Squad Busters? The game just dropped in eight countries: Canada, Mexico, Spain, and Finland are a few of the lucky ones. And according to Sensor Tower, it took only 18 days since the soft launch on April 23 to rack up those 5 million downloads. That’s right, folks, 18 days.

Mexico seems to be leading the charge, making up 45% of all downloads. Spain isn’t far behind at 30%, and Canada’s got 11%. Talk about an international sensation. AppMagic’s data backs this up, showing where the game’s getting all that love.

Clash Royale, another Supercell juggernaut, took 59 days to hit the same milestone. Boom Beach? A whopping 145 days. Clash of Clans and Hay Day? Both clocked in at 149 and 183 days, respectively. Squad Busters is blowing past these numbers like they’re standing still.

Squad Busters is a multiplayer squad-based MOBA for those who haven’t checked it out yet. But don’t get it twisted – it’s way more casual than the hardcore stuff we’re used to. Plus, it’s got characters from other Supercell games, which is a smart move. Fans love seeing their favorite characters all in one place.

Earlier this week, Supercell dropped another bombshell: Squad Busters has already hit 30 million pre-registrations on iOS and Android. They’re aiming for 40 million before the global launch on May 29. That’s some serious hype.

Let’s not count our chickens before they hatch. Supercell is notorious for pulling the plug on projects if they don’t meet high standards. Remember, they’ve shut down dozens of games that didn’t cut. Right now, they’ve only got five live games. Yep, just five: Clash of Clans, Clash Royale, Hay Day, Boom Beach, and Brawl Stars.

Ilkka Paananen, the CEO, laid it out straight. Each new game team gets a set budget. If they run out of cash before proving their game can hang with the best, it’s game over. No pressure, right?

So, will Squad Busters join the ranks of Supercell’s legendary games, or will it end up in the gaming graveyard? Only time will tell, but with numbers like these, things are looking pretty damn good.
