Sony State of Play Event Coming on August 6

Sony has already confirmed the arrival of the first-rumored State of Play event, which was estimated to happen somewhere between August 5 and August 11. Now, we have a solid confirmation by Sony that a new State of Play event will occur on August 6.

  • State of Play will start on August 6, 2020, at 1 PM PT / 4 PM ET, which will focus on third-party titles instead of major ones. It is also going to include PS VR games.

Sony is quite secretive when it comes to lucrative events, especially those who focus on game reveals. But, as announced, there shouldn’t be anything out of the ordinary, or maybe it’s a part of the plan with Sony inducing reverse psychology among the fans, so in the end, the fans would find the event gratifying.

According to recent rumors, Sony has a lot more games to show than what was showcased in its first game reveal event. At first, more first and third party titles are scheduled to premiere in August.

Considering that Gamescom 2020 is arriving this month, maybe Sony will alter the more significant video game announcements for the end of the month, rather than for August 6. But, this is just a speculation, as we know that Sony wants to be a part of Gamescom 2020.

Yesterday, Sony revealed a couple of compatibility issues between the PS5 and PS4, such as controllers and more. Lots of players didn’t find it surprising that the PS4 Controllers will work on the next-gen console, but won’t be compatible with games exclusively released for the PS5.
