One very crazy World of Warcraft player has decided to jump into an older expansion and test his strength against a very cruel raid tier. He’s been grinding through Mythic Amirdrassil in World of Warcraft, taking down almost every boss solo. His journey began back in January, and while nearly all bosses have fallen, the final challenge Fyrakk has proven to be a stubborn obstacle after more than 1000 attempts.
A Long Road to 8/9 Bosses
TheDruidMan has been steadily working through the raid, starting with a modest 620 item level. Interestingly, the first boss defeated wasn’t even the first in the raid, but Smolderon, followed by Volocross. The penultimate boss, Tindral, fell with a World First at ilvl 625. Progress continued with Nymue in March at 640 ilvl, then Gnarlroot in May at 650, Igira in June at 661, the Council, and finally Larodar at ilvl 675, completing 8 out of 9 bosses.
Despite the druid-themed name, all these kills were done using Protection Warriors or Paladins.
Despite the impressive progress, Fyrakk still hasn’t been defeated on Mythic difficulty. TheDruidMan has logged over 1000 attempts on this boss alone, which might mean it’s just too tough to solo right now, even as Season 3 rolls on. That said, the player hasn’t given up and is still pushing to bring down this final hurdle.
