Twitch star Sodapoppin had a seriously rough time streaming Mario Kart World recently, breaking his monitor and controller in moments of pure rage. This all went down just days after the release of the Nintendo Switch 2, which brought tons of excitement as it quickly became Nintendo’s best-selling console launch.
Millions grabbed the new console on launch day, diving straight into Mario Kart World. Many streamers, including Sodapoppin, have been playing it live on Twitch, showing off the racing chaos and excitement.
Sodapoppin Breaks Monitor in Mario Kart Meltdown
On June 11, during a challenge where Sodapoppin had to finish in 16th place or better to advance, things went sideways. Since there are 24 racers per match, 16th place is pretty tight. But then, out of nowhere, he got blasted off the track by a Bullet Bill powerup from behind. Yikes, right?
Sodapoppin threw his controller at his monitor in a flash of frustration, cracking the screen badly. He admitted on stream, “I broke my monitor. My monitor’s just straight up broken. Yeah, that’s cracked.” At first, viewers thought he was joking, but he flipped the webcam to show the shattered screen.
Believe it or not, this wasn’t the first time Sodapoppin lost it over Mario Kart World. Just two days earlier, on June 9, a race went so wrong that he ended up breaking his controller in another rage moment.
Watching someone blow up like this live is kinda wild. Have you ever had a game make you that mad? Honestly, I’m both impressed and a little scared by how much heat this game can generate!
