Slay The Spire 2 is launching into Early Access first. During that Early Access period the game will not be playable on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, or Nintendo Switch 2. The original Slay the Spire reached multiple console families and even mobile devices after leaving Early Access. That game spent time in Early Access on Steam, received regular testing and updates, and was later ported to PlayStation 4 and other platforms. Mega Crit has not confirmed whether the sequel will follow the same route or which console will get the game first when development moves beyond Early Access.
PlayStation 5 – The sequel will not be available on PlayStation 5 while it remains in Early Access. The first game did not ship to consoles until after its Steam Early Access period ended, and Mega Crit has not said the sequel will differ.
Xbox Series X|S – Xbox players cannot play Slay The Spire 2 during Early Access. This is a general Early Access restriction rather than an Xbox-specific decision, and Xbox availability looks likely to depend on a full release rather than the Early Access window.
Nintendo Switch 2 – Nintendo hardware will not host Slay The Spire 2 while it is in Early Access.
The studio has not provided a definitive console schedule for the sequel. For context on the game’s overall timetable and Early Access plans, see the site piece that confirms 2025 release window and outlines the Early Access approach.
