SkyUI returns after nine years with SkyUI 6 and a full GitHub release
SkyUI 6 landed on March 24, 2026, folding several supplemental mods into the main release, adding wide-aspect support, and publishing its source at https://github.com/doodlum/SkyUI-Community.

SkyUI, the staple PC interface overhaul for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, received a surprise update on March 24, 2026 when SkyUI 6 appeared on Nexus Mods.
The mod had not been updated since 2017, when it was refreshed for Skyrim Special Edition. The new release consolidates functionality that players previously had to add with separate compatibility mods, and it remains backward compatible with existing mod setups, so updating should not break other plugins.
Key changes include broad compatibility across Skyrim Special Edition builds from 1.5 through the latest version and automatic adjustment for nonstandard monitor aspect ratios such as 32:9, 21:9, and 4:3. Other entries in the update list are primarily small fixes and polish items that address long-standing annoyances for users.
Perhaps the biggest shift is that SkyUI’s source code has been published on GitHub. With the project open, modders can submit improvements or fixes directly to the repository rather than shipping separate companion mods. The Nexus announcement and release notes are available on the SkyUI page on Nexus Mods in the SkyUI 6 announcement on Nexus Mods, and community discussion has already appeared in threads such as the Skyrim Mods subreddit thread.
On the mod’s Nexus page, users have been posting detailed questions to the author in the comments section, which suggests many players are testing the update against complex mod lists. The mod’s discussion area is available at the Nexus Mods discussion page.
Skyrim’s mod scene remains active across many projects, from interface overhauls to fresh content work. For an example of another recent community project, see the Skyrim Revoiced mod coverage on this site.
