Silent Hill f has sold more than one million copies worldwide in under a week, Konami confirmed, making it the fastest-selling Silent Hill release in recent memory and outpacing the Silent Hill 2 remake across every major region.

Released on September 25, Silent Hill f moves the series from familiar American backdrops to 1960s Japan, following Hinako Shimizu as she descends into the fog-shrouded town of Ebisugaoka. The shift toward Japanese folklore appears to have resonated with players, helping the new entry achieve rapid sales momentum.

Konami noted the comparison directly in a press release, writing, “The remake of ‘SILENT HILL 2,’ released last year, surpassed one million units shipped worldwide within a week of its release, but ‘SILENT HILL f’ is growing in shipments at an even faster pace in each region, including Japan.” Konami’s press release confirmed the figure.

NeoBards Studio Creative Director Al Yang also celebrated the milestone on social media, writing, “Silent Jill f has reached 1 million units as of 9/26! Thank you so much to everyone for your support!”

The Silent Hill 2 remake hit its first million in less than a week after its October 2024 launch, setting a benchmark that the new release has now surpassed in pace. What this means for players is welcome yet straightforward: more Silent Hill projects are likely to receive attention and investment, and fans who favor a new setting and story will have plenty to discuss.
