Konami’s latest numbers show the Silent Hill 2 remake has been played by more than 5 million people when you combine traditional sales with downloads via subscription services, as Push Square reported today.
The company’s total covers activity across the remake’s original releases on PS5 and PC plus the later Xbox Series X|S port. Konami’s figure includes digital and physical sales, storefront downloads and plays coming from subscription services. Konami previously reported the remake had sold 2.5 million copies in October 2025, which suggests roughly half of the recorded players came through subscriptions. The remake is currently available on PS Plus Extra.
The remake’s performance has been a catalyst for a broader return of the franchise. That momentum helped push Silent Hill f into a strong launch last year, as covered in our report announcing Silent Hill f for modern platforms, and Konami has Silent Hill: Townfall lined up for release sometime in 2026. Bloober Team, which developed the Silent Hill 2 remake, is also working on a full remake of the original PS1 Silent Hill.
The Xbox Series X|S involvement was signaled earlier by an ESRB listing and other signs that point toward broader platform support, which we covered in our piece about the ESRB entry for the Xbox versions here.
