After yesterday’s driver update, Nvidia has enabled DX Raytracing technology on the GTX GPU series. More precisely, the lowest of the family that gets the support is the GTX 1060 6GB. Anything stronger will also have the RayTracing technology as an option in those video games that support it.
Luckily for us, DudeRandom84, whose work is very familiar for its compilation of videos made on Frame Rate comparisons between different games and products, has compiled one more comparison video. In this, the main game is Shadow of the Tomb Raider, in which two different generations of GPUs are battling through. Those are the RTX 2080 Ti and the GTX 1080 Ti
Not that is a fair battle considered the GPUs are in a difference of one whole generation. Therefore, the result was as expected. Judging by the video, the test has been done on 1440p resolution and decent video game options.
It was expected to see the GTX 1080 Ti choking against the RTX 2080 Ti. As presumed, the RTX 2080 Ti smashed the GTX 1080 Ti, leaving a little doubt and mind-boggling shock among fans. Simply said, why would Nvidia activate RayTracing on GTX when their performance is far worse than the RTX series.
Below you can watch the frame rate comparison video.
