Sea of Thieves has been a massive success since its release in 2018, with players spending more time on the servers and experiencing better overall gameplay. Everything added to the game has contributed to today’s massive player base, which has recently crossed 25 million players. Rare has managed to steer this juggernaut towards all that they promised for it from day one.
In a recent update, Rare and Microsoft have noted Sea of Thieves new milestone, which conquers a new wave of players to add up to the total capacity of 25 million players.
“The pirate ranks of the Sea of Thieves continue to swell, as we’re happy to announce that we’ve reached the auspicious milestone of 25 million players!” – stated Rare.
As a celebration of this milestone, the developer will crown the players with an in-game giveaway by throwing them gold and Doubloons and putting them in the drum roll for the grabs of the 25 million gold.
Anyone who plays Sea of Thieves between October 19th (3 pm BST) and October 26th (3 pm BST) will receive a unique login bonus of 25,000 gold and 25 Doubloons. On top of that, one randomly picked pirate who hands in treasure during this period will earn a payout of 25 million in gold! – stated Rare.
Sea of Thieves didn’t have quite as successful an initial launch. However, things perked up quickly following adjustments made by developers.
