Street Fighter 6 fans are getting a fresh look at Sagat, the towering Thai fighter, ahead of his launch in August. This gameplay trailer previews his moves and a new stage, kicking off the game’s Year 3 content season. If you love classic fighters with a twist, this update might catch your eye.

The trailer shows Sagat using his long limbs to control distance, and his signature Tiger Punch remains a powerful ranged attack. Interestingly, there appears to be a bit more grappling in his moveset than we’ve seen before, although that could simply be a result of how the trailer was edited. Either way, it’s cool to see some variation in his fighting style!

Sagat will arrive on 5th August, alongside a new stage called Proud Spire. This level appears to be inspired by historical Thai locations, such as Ayutthaya, complete with a giant Buddha statue in the background. It’s a nice nod to his roots and adds a fresh vibe to the game’s environments.

At launch, players can grab two outfits for Sagat, including one that pays tribute to his classic Muay Thai look from Street Fighter 2. Nostalgia alert! This update also marks the start of Year 3’s content season, and you can already purchase the Year 3 Pass from the PS Store.

Looking ahead, the upcoming character lineup includes:

  • Sagat: Summer 2025
  • C. Viper: Autumn 2025
  • Alex: Early Spring 2026
  • Ingrid: Late Spring 2026

Are you hyped for Sagat’s arrival next month? Does the new stage spark your interest? I’m kinda curious if the grappling additions will change how you play him. What do you think? Drop your thoughts below and let’s chat!
